When I had a baby at my side and other children with me in the cradle worked 12 hours a day cleaning floors and tear off wallpaper. Ha! The home was beginning to appear nice, however there were a few things to be done. To complete this task I had planned to invest a significant amount of time and money looking for my dream house. My three sons and me looked for treasures hidden going to estate sales in order to help ensure that my spending was under control. Our routine for the week was to spend Thursday-Saturday walking through garage sales to purchase a mix of antique and brand new furniture and then I would spend the weekdays painting sanding in the driveway. The furniture was like this... which is the place I discovered my love for restoring. After our home was fully furnished, I still couldn't give up! Markets in town had room for me to market my items. My collection eventually grew so large that the room I had available was not enough. Over 1000 people visited my home in just one weekend to buy everything that was on the ground. Growing Days was founded in my home. Growing Days was more than an incredibly successful business, but also my sweet family. The balance between work and family was crucial for me. I wished to be a mom and a successful business owner. Growing Days was the obvious option. Nora came into our lives in 2013 to be our fourth baby. I adored where my business was taking me, but I felt like I needed some time off. I decided to slow down to spend time at home, with my children. It was time. After a few months that my phone began to call. Many people called me for help on home improvement and decorating. A majority of them came into my residence in my open houses for furniture. While I was working, I added customers to my client list in a series of. But it wasn't long before I managed many clients and operated a profitable home improvement business. There is a good chance that I'd have laughed had someone had told me the business was going to be part of a forthcoming TV show on DIY Network. As I reflect at it, it has made me smile.
